Getting Grand Gems in Diablo 4 right now is kind of a struggle. They are not exactly common drops, and upgrading your gems makes quite a big difference in your stats. Luckily, earlier today, Mekuna found a fast and easy way to farm them, and it works as early as Torment 1.

How It Works

Head to the Skovos region and look for the dungeon near the northern exit of Temis, called Seer's Reach. It is a short dungeon where you just rush straight to the boss and kill it. Each run takes about 30 to 60 seconds, depending on your build and speed. The boss drops Royal Gems consistently, even on Torment 1. Of course, higher Torments give slightly more loot per run, but the drops are good regardless.

Once you are done, do not go back to town. Just reset the dungeon from the menu and go again. Doing this over and over is where the real gains come in. After about 20 minutes, you should have farmed enough Royal Gems to start combining them.

Amalgamation for Better Gems

Here is the part a lot of people do not know about yet. You can salvage 10 Royal Gems to craft 1 Grand Gem at the Jeweler. From there, you can put Grand Gems into the Horadric Cube using the Amalgamation recipe to create a Horadric Gem. So if you get 5 Grand Gems, you can combine those into an even better rank. That means 25 Royal Gems total for the highest rank, which is a grind but very much worth it.

The stat difference is huge. For example, a Grand Topaz gives 90 Intelligence, and on a weapon the multiplicative damage jumps from 24% to 28% and eventually to 32% at the highest tier.

It Is Also Great for Gold

If you do not need certain gem types for your class, sell them. Grand Gems sell for around 650 million gold each. In his video, Mekuna estimated that you can make roughly 3 billion gold in about 30 minutes of farming, which makes this one of the best gold farms in the game right now!
