Lord of Hatred has been live for just a few days, but the community has already figured out quite a lot of things that the game does not exactly spell out for you. And because exchanging little tips and tricks with each other is always fun in games, we have compiled the most useful discoveries from players across social media (though mostly Reddit) this week.

So let's start with a bit of a "good to know".

Warning: Swapping Off Torment Downgrades Your Sigils

This one is quite important to know. If you switch from Torment difficulty back down to Penitent, some of your Nightmare Sigils will permanently convert into Dungeon Delves. Vile Splendor, Treasure Breach, and Mythical Prankster sigils are all affected. This happens even to sigils that are stored in your stash, and it cannot be undone. So be careful.

The player who discovered this tested it on both Seasonal and Eternal Realms and confirmed it is reproducible. The bug has already been reported on the official tracker, but until it is fixed, do not swap off Torment if you have valuable sigils anywhere on your account. If you need to help a lower-level friend, do it on a separate character that has nothing to lose.

Keep Your Ancestral White and Blue Items

This is probably something most people are not fully aware of currently. Ancestral common (white) items can be upgraded to Ancestral Uniques through the Horadric Cube. And since Ancestral no longer guarantees a Greater Affix this season, a lot of players have been ignoring or salvaging these without realizing what they can do.

The process itself is simple enough. All you have to do is take an Ancestral blue or yellow item, use the "Remove Affix" recipe until it becomes a white item, then upgrade it to a Unique. The result will be an Ancestral Unique with a chance at Greater Affixes. This is especially useful when you are trying to get specific Uniques, since the outcome is locked to the item type. For example, upgrading an Ancestral white dagger on a Warlock gives you a 50/50 chance at getting Litany of Sable.

Amalgamation Recipes You Might Not Know About

The Horadric Cube's Amalgamation recipe works on more things than most people realize:

5 Nightmare Sigils can be combined into an Escalation Sigil
5 Blue (magic) Runes turn into a guaranteed rare (yellow) Rune, and 5 rare Runes into a guaranteed legendary rune
5 Boss trophies give you a random Unique from that boss's drop table (boss summoning items are no longer needed to fight bosses, so this is now their only use)
5 Greater Tributes of Armaments can be combined into a Mythic Tribute
Undercity keys can be upgraded to the next rarity

Recycle Your Loot Instead of Salvaging

This point is one of the most upvoted tips this week! It is about using the 3-to-1 transmute recipe in the Cube instead of just salvaging everything. You can combine 3 set charms of any type into a new random set charm, which gives you another shot at completing your set or rolling better affixes. The same works for Uniques, Seals, and most other items.

On top of that, you can also reroll a single set charm into another charm of the same set using Horadric materials, which is a much cheaper way to hunt for upgrades once you already have a full set.

Oh, and one more thing worth knowing: Legendary Seals sell to vendors for up to 13 million gold, so if you have extras you are not using, that is a fast way to build up your gold.
